 STACHE BAR QUEER MURAL

In 2022, I was hired and commissioned to create a series of art murals for the interior of a new queer bar in West Hollywood, CA. It became a labor of love, and quite the queer history lesson. I realized that I previously knew nothing about our turbulent past, a color history filled with pain, suffering, and legions of forgotten gay warriors. However, I came out the other side feeling connected to these mythical persons. In return, I tried my best to pass along what I had learned into the mural to give those passing through a brief and beautiful history of our community. The bathroom stalls became the main focus of the project after the front exterior and interior bar area murals were scraped by the owners. The stalls were each themed to reflect the history of the queer community.
